Meets: Matt Sample Youth Building
The New Beginnings Class was founded to include people from all walks of life. The class ranges in age from late 20s to late 40s and includes both singles and couples. The lessons are scriptural-based with an emphasis on modern-day application. The class has several social functions each year that include the whole family. The members of New Beginnings also look for opportunities to do outreach work in the community through different projects during the year.
VIRGINIA MCCARTER CLASS
Meets: Family Life Center
This class was formed to meet the needs of the many young adults joining Marion Methodist Church. The ages of the members are from the early 20's to 50's. Members are single and married. Two long-time members of MUMC guide this class in study and discussion. The members of this class are a close knit group and are always welcoming new members and visitors. The group does several social functions from time to time as well.
FORD TURNER CLASS
Meets: Downstairs in the main building
The Ford Turner Class was organized in the 1950s as the original "Young Adult" class. The current membership consists of singles and couples who range in age from mid-sixties and older. Despite the "advanced" age of its members, this is a vibrant and active group. The Adult Bible Studies literature is utilized in this class. The group does several community service projects during the year as well.
SEEKERS AND SERVERS CLASS
Meets: Matt Sample Youth Building
This class is made up of couples and singles in the 40s and up age group. This class uses the Adult Bible Study series as its study material as well as other books and literature. The group does several service projects during the year in addition to its weekly discussion and study in the regular Sunday School hour. The class is always open to new members and visitors.
JOHN ROBBINS SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS
Meets: Upstairs in the main building
This class ranges in age from early 30s through late 40s. In addition to traditional Bible studies and discussions, this group also deals with such issues as self-esteem, books of the Bible studies, leadership issues, Women of the Bible, etc. The class also meets several times a year for social functions and does several service projects as well. Any person looking for a Sunday School class is invited to visit and join.
